SK Gaming May Be Looking to Acquire Former 100 Thieves Roster

It sounds insane, but the world-famous SK Gaming roster of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Marcelo “coldzera” David, Fernando “fer” Alvarenga, Epitácio “TACO” de Melo and Ricardo “boltz” Prass may not be the ones to play for the org for much longer, if a recent report from DBLTAP is to be believed.

It implies that the current SK Gaming roster doesn’t intend to resign their current contract with the organization once it runs out in the summer. As a result, SK Gaming is looking for five new players to continue building their legacy in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

With their recent history and success with Brazilian rosters, it’s no wonder that SK is looking at the former 100 Thieves roster, minus Vito “kNg” Giuseppe.

If the move came to fruition, the new SK Gaming roster would probably be Henrique “HEN1” Teles and his twin, Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles, Lincoln “fnx” Lau and Bruno “bit” Lima with current SK Gaming bench warmer, João “felps” Vasconcellos, rounding out the team and replacing the toxic presence of kNg.

All of that seems to be all well and good, but a big question mark remains—what’s going to happen to one of the best teams in the world? Currently, there are several rich esports orgs from North America without a CS:GO roster, including 100 Thieves, Team SoloMid, Counter Logic Gaming, and, most importantly, Immortals.

Some people also named Luminosity Gaming and Tempo Storm as potential new homes for FalleN and friends but we think that it would be very unlikely that SK would go with that option. It would also be a huge stepback for them.

While Luminosity and Tempo Storm have experience working with Brazilian CS:GO rosters, the teams are way too small and, dare we say it, poor to field a team befitting SK Gaming roster’s status in the scene.

Immortals getting the teamless former SK lineup would be the best that makes the most sense in our opinion. The team is funded by venture capital, it does have the money to pay coldzera and the other stars. It has worked with Brazilians before, the players will know what to expect.

Finally, the kNg murder threat incident showed that the org is honorable and treats its players well, even if all they want is to leave the team and cash out using their Major spot as leverage. If Immortals got FalleN, coldzera and the rest to sign up, the team would finally get the Brazilian roster it deserves.

If that wasn’t enough, the current SK roster also has boltz on “loan” from Immortals. That player can tell his new teammates from the first person perspective how it is to play for Immortals, hopefully selling them on the idea. At this point, this is the most realistic scenario if the report about the impending roster move turns out to be true.
