Senior CS:GO Team Is Just What We Need

With the rising popularity of esports, it’s getting taken more and more seriously as time passes. It used to be a fun thing where many lulz were had, but as esports professionalized, this charm has been lost. Who’d have guessed that it would take the old to remind us youngsters of what it used to be like?

When we say “the old” we mean to refer to the Lenovo Silver Snipers CS:GO team, made up of senior Scandinavians. Proving that no age is too old to start playing CS:GO, all five of the Silver Snipers team have around 100 hours played in CS:GO.

Without further ado, we bring to you… Lenovo Silver Snipers!

Bertil “Berra-Bang” Englund

Saying that you shouldn’t shoot anything tomorrow if you can shoot it today, Berra-Bang is an actor and singer from Sweden, as well as the oldest player on the team at 81. He’s described as a patient person with the second best headshot percentage on the team at 6%. He’s played 92 hours of CS:GO, has a win rate of 9% and a KDA of 0.45.

Abbe “BirDie” Drakborg

At 75, BirDie proves that KDA is not the ultimate factor contributing to one’s win rate. Despite having 199 kills and 533 deaths, which totals to 0.37 KDA, BirDie has won more games than Berra-Bang at 13% over 82 hours played. His headshot percentage is quite low at 1.9%. This is strange because the player states that “Calm is a superpower,” which turns out to be his specialty. Could it be that this calm player is the entry fragger of the team?

Monica “Teen Slayer” Indenfors

This 62-year-old is destined to be the in-game leader of the team due to her specialty of strategic thinking and motto, which states that, “In life be a warrior, not a worrier.” With a competitive can-do attitude, a 15% win rate, 97 hours played and a KDA of 0.42, Teen Slayer should show all the young people what the word “grit” means.

Wanja “Knitting Knight” Godänge

The team’s ace, Knitting Knight is destined to be the main AWPer due to her dexterity. She has the best headshot percentage on the team at 8%, the best KDA of 0.54, and the best win rate of 19%, over 101 hours played. Also, her name is the second best on the team, only behind Teen Slayer. Even if the team ends up losing a lot, it’s unlikely that Knitting Knight will consider it a waste. After all, her motto is “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.” And she wasted the most time playing CS:GO out of the whole team. Must have been extra enjoyable, then.

Oivind “Windy” Toverud

Windy is a person who reels you into his traps and doesn’t let go due to his… viscosity. The player states that his motto is “Live. Laugh. Love. And kill terrorists,” which could prove to be problematic on T halves in matches. We see a lot of friendly fire in this team’s future if Windy is as dedicated to terrorist killing as he seems. This tendency to shoot terrorists, even if they are his teammates, might be a contributor to the player’s 8% win rate. Aside from that, he has a 3.2% headshot percentage and spent just 85 hours playing the game.

On a more serious note…

Let’s be frank for a second, this team has exactly zero chance of winning anything at all. That is not what it was made for, though. It was made to have people talk about it, similar to the Team Siren of LoL infamy.

Where Team Siren was full of cringe, however, Lenovo Silver Snipers is actually inspirational. Yes, this team would lose against absolutely every semi-pro CS:GO team out there and it wouldn’t even be close but it shows everyone around the world that it’s never too late to try something new.

Also, Teen Slayer and Knitting Knight are inspired, badass names that perfectly show the difference between these players and guys like Jacob “Pimp” Winneche or Ryan “fREAKAZOiD” Abadir.
