REPORT: Cavaliers to play in the NA LCS Under the Name of 100 Thieves

It’s the preseason in League of Legends. That naturally comes with a whole bunch of rumors, speculation, and guessing about what’s going to happen in the next season. With the drastic changes that are coming to the NA LCS, this period is even more intense this year.

ESPN’s Jacob Wolf, the one who breaks roster news, has recently published an article, reporting the fact that the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers are going to have teams in the NA LCS. The reporter also cited sources saying that the Cleveland Cavaliers team’s NA LCS arm is going to be called 100 Thieves. The brand was previously owned by Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag.

The LCS team owned by Houston Rocket and associates is speculated to be called Clutch City Gaming, giving a nod to the term Clutch City, which came into existence in 1994, after a newspaper article coined the phrase “Choke City” to describe the way Houston lost two Playoffs matches at home against Phoenix Sun.

The Houston team came back and won the Championship, leading to the Clutch City moniker being born.

This is all a rumor at this point but it’s a believable one. Jacob Wolf is also rarely wrong, so we are inclined to believe it. What’s your take on this? Would you support a team called Clutch City Gaming or 100 Thieves? Let us known in the comments below.
