Natus Vincere Team Profile

This article is part of a series aimed at introducing the teams that are going to play at the ELEAGUE Major Boston. To see profiles of other teams, click on the images at the bottom of the article.

The ELEAGUE Major Boston is going to be the first tournament to feature a new structure where the Offline Qualifier is played under the umbrella of the Major instead of it being a separate event. We’re looking at all teams set to take part in the event. The Minors’ Champions have been discussed already, it’s time to talk about the Krakow’s Fallen.

Natus Vincere. Simply saying the name of this legendary team brings up memories of glorious times long past when the team made the Finals in most tournaments they entered and dominated the CS:GO scene.

That’s not what Na’Vi is now. With the teams continue decline over 2016. The team has been failing to go deep in tournaments for more than a year despite having one of the best CS:GO players in the world, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.

At first, it was a problem of in-game leading. Once that was fixed, the crosshairs turned to one of the team’s supportive players. New blood was brought in and now, Na’Vi is looking towards the Major hopefully.

What can Na’Vi do at ELEAGUE Major Boston? They should be able to get to the Main Event without question. After that, things get much less certain. Normally, Na’Vi should have enough firepower to get to the Playoffs due to s1mple’s awe-inspiring aim, Zeus’ IGL abilities that let him win PGL Major Krakow with Gambit and the experience of two veterans.

We will have to see what happens.

The Roster

The current Natus Vincere roster came into existence through a long process that started with s1mple joining. To make room for the young star, the team had to let go Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko.

When that didn’t work out how the management was expecting, Zeus came back, having won a Major with Gambit and achieved his dream. Another Na’Vi star, Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács left for FaZe.

Na’Vi tried to go on with Denis “seized” Kostin as their fifth player, but the results were unsatisfactory, so the player stepped down, making room for Denis “electronic” Sharipov on Nov. 11, 2017.

So, the current roster is s1mple, Zeus, electronic, Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev and Egor “flamie” Vasilyev.

Team Stats

The new Natus Vincere roster has only played 20 maps together in official matches so it’s hard to judge it’s capabilities from stats. From the 20 maps, Na’Vi won 11 with Overpass being their most played map with a 4-2 record and a 66.7% win rate. The rest of the maps played, Inferno, Nuke, Train, and Cobblestone, all had two victories and two losses going to the Ukrainian side.

Recent Results

The only LAN Na’Vi’s played at with their current lineup was DreamHack Open Winter 2017, which they won, defeating mousesports in the Finals 2-0 and Team EnVyUs in the Semifinals.
