On November 7th, the Dota 2 roster of Natus Vincere lost three of their five players due to unsolvable differences within the team. The only players left over from the old roster were Danil “Dendi” Ishutin and Victor “GeneRaL” Nigrini. Now, the Na’Vi organization announced that they have found replacement for all of the remaining positions.
In the Q&A following the announcement of the removal of the old roster, Na’Vi representatives talked about the problems arising from the situation where a new system of playing, training and communicating in the team is attempted to be put in place with a roster that’s been playing together and for the org for a long time. With the aim of establishing a more professional and healthy dynamic in the team, where problems are discussed and solved instead of being allowed to fester until they grow to such a degree that they become a serious problem in game, the Na’Vi front office representatives said that they were looking for players who would fit the team not only in in-game skill, but personality and professional outlook as well.
It seems like the org found the players they were looking for. They signed Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille, Roman “rmN-” Paley and Malthe “Biver” Winther. For probably the first time in the org’s history, Na’Vi is no longer represented by exclusively CIS players. This move, announced in the Q&A mentioned above, is a good first step towards finding a roster Na’Vi truly desire. After all, it’s much harder to combine the professionality and in-game skill when you only have CIS players to choose from. With a Swede, a Dane, and and a German playing for the team, it’s obvious that the Russian or Ukrainian-speaking players were considered and found wanting.
“Pajkatt will be a captain, drafter and carry of the team. We had time to test Per and he proved to be a true leader and intelligent team player as well as to have a great playing shape. Pajkatt has things to prove, since he didn’t have really great achievements in his career. We believe that he’ll live up to our hopes and win many titles with Na`Vi. We’ve determined the fourth support position quite long ago. German player rmN- will play in our new team. Roman demonstrated great performance during the test games, and similar to Pajkatt he has things to prove. He has a very good hero pool, large experience and personal qualities necessary for the teamwork. I am sure that with Na`Vi he’ll reveal his full potential. Regarding the fifth support, unlike Roman and Per, Malthe doesn’t have that much experience. Nonetheless, he’s open and positive person as well as a reliable player with great micro control. We have no doubts he’ll be a great teammate both in game and in day-to-day life,” said Yevgeniy “Haris Pilton” Zolotarov, the eSports Director of Natus Vincere, speaking about the three new players signed by the team.
Hopefully, the new Na’Vi roster is everything what the team wished for. The players should start training for the Kiev Major after the 20th of January. The team’s tournament schedule should be announced later as well.
