V4 Future Sports Festival - Budapest 2018 Preview

On Friday, Mar. 23, V4 Future Sports Festival, the first international event held in Hungary will start. The event will take place in Budapest, at the Syma Sport- és Rendezvényközpont arena. The tournament will offer a great prize pool of €500,000 and feature a great team of on-air talent, matched only by the crown jewel of the event, the appearance of FaZe Clan.

All in all, four teams—FaZe, HellRaisers, mousesports and Virtus.pro—were invited to play in the event, while four more had to go through Qualifiers. From the Czech and Slovak Qualifiers, we have eXtatus and Dark Tigers, x-kom Team earned a spot in the event from the Polish Qualifier, and GameAgents will be the home team, having won the Hungarian Qualifier.

On the broadcast team, we will have Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner hosting, Duncan “Thorin” Shields, Janko “YNk” Paunović and Balázs “Draulon” Lengyel at the analysts’ desk. Henry “HenryG” Greer, Matthew “Sadokist” Trivett, Anders “Anders” Blume and Jason “Moses” O’Toole will tell explain what’s happening in the game from the commentators’ booth, while Hugo Byron and Tom “Tombizz” Bissmire will also comment on the secondary stream.

The tournament will follow a best of 2 Round Robin format where the top two teams from both of the two groups will advance to the best of 3 Semifinals, followed by the best of 5 Grand Finals.

FaZe Clan should have no trouble getting out of the groups against HellRaisers, GameAgents and Dark Tigers but then again, the team has been letting its fans down for a while now. On the other side of the Group Stage, we have mousesports, Virtus.pro, eXtatus and x-kom Team. If the world made sense, Virtus.pro would definitely finish the Group Stage in 1st place but anything could happen depending on how seriously the polish superstars take this tournament.

There is also the question of Michał “MICHU” Müller to consider. The player has been playing with Virtus.pro for more than a month now. The team should be better than it used to be but you can never know with Virtus.pro these days.

Mousesports, on the other hand, can be depended on to put up to the best of their abilities most of the time. Thus, we are not at all discounting the possibility that they will manage to go to the Playoffs as the 1st seed from Group B in this tournament.

All in all, we have an interesting tournament with a considerable prize pool and some of the best on-air talent in CS:GO, which promises a great tournament. The matches start at 09:00 CET with HellRaisers vs. Dark Tigers and mouz vs. x-kom. Tune in and demand to be entertained.
